Best Content Marketing Strategy: 11 Reasons Why Writing a Book Maybe The Best

Building Authority

What could have more authority than a book? They have been the go-to source for centuries, even millennia and even now if you have penned a book, you are held in higher regard. A good book has a more lasting impression on the audience than your blogs. Anyone can write a blog post, but you have risen above the masses and created a whole book!

If you have good writing skills and blogging experience then you can write a book with little effort. Publishing a book can provide considerable value to your business. An ebook provides perceived value to readers and many of them will be willing to buy something from you, typically permission to market and contact information, in the conversation for the book. To get something from the reader you have to first give them something, so they don’t think it’s an unfair exchange. Provide a free download for your book, in exchange for information, you expect your clients to give you.

Integrated Marketing Tool

Books have long been a source of multiple marketing elements. Your name is on the front cover of the book, of course, and your words and inside of it, but that book is also the place where you can demonstrate ideas, techniques and display some of your very best inventions and thoughts without worrying about a two-minute time limit.

Like all marketing, the best versions are designed with the customer in mind, not your ego, but if your book is all about ways to boost productivity and you just so happen to have some productivity tools you’ve developed over the years, why not mention them?

Books are an effective integrated marketing tool to create a unified and seamless experience for customers.

Improved Audience

An audience willing to appreciate and even read a book isn’t particularly fickle, and they are probably pretty educated as well. This can be a huge bonus when it comes to selling items and services to those who appreciate higher quality and long-term relationships.

While that might not be the ideal audience for every seller, it’s a more discerning crowd some are trying to reach and a book might be just the way to get there. Book is a good way to build valuable relationships in society.

Ebooks are more suitable for your audience. You can select to issue your ebook content in the standard ebook formats, or you can also make them simple and distribute PDF files that the audience can read easily on their tablets, computers, and phones without using any additional apps or an internet connection when downloaded.

Gifting Potential

A book is substantial enough to feel valuable, even if you never read it. That is true for your clients as well. Once you have a useful book on hand, you can give it away as a gift with any number of other purchases or as an incentive for simply signing up.

It would be amazing if everyone read it and appreciated your ideas (and clever marketing angles), but even if people never open it, they still feel like they got something from you, and that builds trust and respect.

Implementing this ebook marketing strategy plan into your digital content strategy will offer both customers and businesses something valuable that you are unable to achieve with articles and blog posts alone. Your customer’s solutions to their problems and get detailed information and you get contact information and generate more leads to make web content marketing efforts more successful.

Compile Existing Elements

A book is a great way to bring a collection of posts, emails, instructions, and images together in a single, cohesive way. If the thought of writing a book was intimidating, think of how many blog posts and forum responses you’ve written over the years.

Have any diagrams and product images laying around? Collect all of the pieces you already have, put them together, write the connecting elements and you’ll have a book in no time.

Ghostwriting

If you’re still not ready to commit to writing your book, you can simply pay someone else to do it for you. A ghostwriter will take your ideas and instructions and turn them into a book on your behalf. This is a great way to create a book without taking the time to pen down your ideas. Be aware, however, that writing a book is a long-term gig in most cases and you’ll want to be sure that you have contracts in order and disclosure forms ready as well to protect your interests. You can hire someone to write down your thoughts and ideas.

When you have a few ideas about what you want to write, the ebook is one of the good marketing strategies that you can make in a matter of weeks instead of months like printed materials. Coming up with the book’s content can be very easy like rounding up articles, blog posts, and infographics series on a subject and changing the information a bit to be suitable for book format. White papers can be simply converted and compiled into ebooks. You can also hire a ghostwriter who can rapidly turn your thoughts and ideas into written form and create a book for you.

A Basis of Knowledge

Writing a book will not only allow you to share your knowledge with the world but also show you where there might be holes in your foundation. There’s nothing like starting a chapter and coming up blank to send you out for serious research and a greater understanding of your subject matter.

Web consumers are very easily getting annoyed by direct ads most of the time, particularly when they are in the decision-making stage for buying any product. You can use eBooks for marketing purposes which is a safe place for your audience to learn about various topics without feeling like a sales pitch.

Ebooks are undoubtedly a good marketing opportunity for you, these books are more likely to focus on problem-solving and product-relevant information for the audience. You can offer this information to the audience and let to evaluate your solutions and your company with the content and tone that you are using.

Cover Complexities

While simple may be best in some worlds, other areas are simply too complex for a short blog post or instructional video. A book gives you chapters for outlining ideas, connecting dots, and exploring ideas deeply. Having hundreds of pages available is easily the best way to cover any complex topic. A book can include comprehensive guidance on a complex topic.

Underutilized

Writing a book seems daunting to most marketers. It’s time-consuming and you have to know a lot to write a lot. Perhaps for this reason readers are underutilized in the world of marketing. However, a well-written book can be a huge selling point for a company and an even more significant bit of advertising for promotional materials and services.

If you are providing your audience with something valuable like an ebook, you can ask for something in return. Many ebooks are gated, which means they need readers to give their email addresses and names for downloading. You may think this requirement could daunt potential clients from reading your content, the capable leads are aggressively searching for the information that they can find in ebooks, and you can put them on the list to send content in the future.

Establish Dominance

When the pond is rather small, it’s pretty easy to emerge as a big fish. There seem to be fewer books every year, but we know millennials are reading more than any generation before them. That means there is an unexploited avenue available for the marketer who is willing to write the book and jump into that particular sales gap. He who does it well gets all of the bragging rights, of course.

Ebooks offer you a chance to determine the capabilities of your brand by writing down your positive client experiences or case studies to prove your claims. Subtly representing how your business overcomes challenges in the industry is also a good way to demonstrate to readers what you are offering without being very aggressive or pushy. Being a marketing professional, you should have the required insights and tools to make valued content. The next step is communicating and organizing your expertise in the industry in a manner that is compelling and informative for your target audience.

Create a Lasting Presence

Websites come and go. Blogs come and go even fasters. But books tend to stick around. While e-books can be hit or miss, actually printing your book – either as a self-published piece or through a publisher and distributor – means you’re entering the world where your ideas and your words will last through the ages. And that’s very humbling, and empowering, though.

Writing a book is a daunting task. It’s not for every industry and it’s not for every marketer. But for those who are willing to take on the task and approach the challenge with the necessary enthusiasm, there are certainly rewards to be won.

In a specific manner, you can increase your email list for news, newsletters, and coupons through eBook sign-ups. While publishing your book, make sure to use analytics tools set up to evaluate the growth and analyze conversions you are making from it. the main purpose of writing your book is to improve your ROI, otherwise, you are wasting your time and efforts.

Thanks for this helpful post, Oleg

I wrote an ebook a few years ago. It has helped me further build my audience, and establish more authority.

After reading your post I’m thinking I should step up again and write another one. But this time I would like it to be more substantial. And yeah, it would be hard copy, not digital.

You’ve made a great argument there for writing a book.

In the past I have produced a few ebooks. A couple from scratch (that still bring me in a few dollars most months), one that was ghost-written, and one that I put together from blog-posts and used as a lead magnet. Yes, they all suggested affiliate products along their themes.

I particularly liked the point you made about attracting a better audience if they were prepared to read a book.
